Your reading too much into this. Guys don't think hard about relationships. If he's saying "luv ya", then he loves you. It's like how different colored roses have different meanings; 90% of guys don't know that or think about it (I just found out last week, at 22 years old, when I got my girlfriend yellow roses and she freaked out). Girls tend read too much into a guys actions.
