Has Richard Nixon been judged too harshly?

I think Pres Nixon was a good president, certainly better than Obama or Clinton- Watergate was a bad move, but he inherited the war from Johnson- But Nixon did open the door to china- How does Nixon rate when compared to modern presidents that followed him?
