Is America turning into the Next Rome????

Sooooooooo.........national debt (80 trillion dollars) Economy woes: People wanting to live luxurios without the money, corrupt government: Partisan Politics, foriegn war that drains economy.........does this sound familiar to the late, and great, Roman Empire???? I am a history major and the more and more I read stuff on Americas current situation it is hard for me not to refer back to the Roman Empire. Granted, we dont have the vikings or the mongols to deal with but we are fighting in Iraq, which drains our economy in the same way. Probably worse!!! I know our economy has been bad before, the depression, 80's and early 90's, but our national debt is the biggest the world has EVER seen?? Should this all be cause for concern???
